A Storm at Mordialloc Pier

A storm at Mordialloc Pier

A storm at Mordialloc pier, Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia (2004)

From Mordialloc to Frankston on the east side of Port Phillip Bay there are five piers: Mordialloc pier, the pier just south of Chelsea, a short pier close to Carrum, Seaford pier, and Frankston pier. Mordialloc pier is the most impressive and reaches out much further into the sea than any of the others. It is normally a good height above sea level but on this day the sea rose to within a few feet of the walkway, which was swamped with heavy spray from waves blown in by the high winds. I took the picture at about mid-day.
