Hello Anne.

Thanks for your comments. Whilst I was in Australia I happened to visit a doctor and I noticed a painting on the wall, of the Radcliffe Hospital, where I was born! He told me that was where he'd trained, though I can't remember if he was Australian or British.

You're right - Winter Hill and Rivington Pike are lovely places, but so (in a different way) is Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia.

Hi Patrick

Happened upon your website by chance when googled 'chess piece designs'. I was helping my 17 yr old son with his D&T A level project. we found your site very interesting and have encouraged my son to browse it to help him with his studies. Hopefully he will be inspired! My parents are from Bolton, my dad started out as a joiner, studied at the Bolton tech and later went into teaching. He was not an architect, but drew many plans and has now retired into a house he designed and built. Bolton gets a lot of knocks and my parents could not get out of the town quick enough, but I always loved it as kid visiting family etc, rivington pike, winter hill, moss bank park etc, great place. I trained as a nurse at the Radcliffe in Oxford another great place, but would rather remain in the north thankyou, now live in cheshire. Particularly like your photography, keep up the good work.
Regards Anne jones

He probably lives there. Many people who live there don't seem to think of it as anything very special.
